The photo editors at Budget Travel have put together a bunch of tips on taking better shots.
Tip 1: Tuck Discreetly. In a perfect world, no one would ever have to be photographed by someone who's shorter than she is--it's a recipe for a double chin. If it's unavoidable, remember to tuck your chin down slightly, but not so far down so that it looks like you're doing a yoga stretch. This will minimize any jowliness and emphasize your sexy eyes instead. See our staff member, Lauren Feuer, illustrating the difference here. You'll find other cool tips and tricks when you check out this slide show.
User reviews and comments that include profanity or personal attacks or other inappropriate comments or material will be removed from the site. What you didn't say was that you also moved in closer and got rid of that competing background that had that awful flash highlight that is distracting. Most people do not crop close enough in the camera when they are taking people pictures.

thanks for the tip - the "after" shot looks much better, although she didn't need much help to begin with ;-)

Another tip when having your photo taken - press your tongue against your bottom teeth -it helps eliminate a double chin. If you press your tongue against the roof of your mouth, it adds a chin! Practice in the mirror - you'll see the differences.

Karly,
Wow, I'm going to be making some funny faces in front of the mirror tonight.
Great advice, thanks.
