Nickelodeon said today that it's teaming up with Marriott in creating new kid-friendly family resort brand. It'll take about a dozen years to build about 20 properties, each with a water park. The first resort, a 650-room property in San Diego, will be open within a couple of years. Of course, Nickelodeon already offers Nick Hotels via Holiday Inn.
Tomorrow, the Operation Spy experience debuts at the International Spy Museum in downtown Washington, D.C. Participants ages 12 and older assume the role of U.S. Intelligence officers on an intrigue-filled international mission. The exhibit combines live-action, video characters, special effects, and hands-on activities to simulate what it's like to be a spy. Sounds pretty neat. Be sure to book your timed tickets in advance. My wife, daughter and I rented segways in Florence. After a few minutes you get the feel for them and after that the fun begins. What a unique experience. I'll definitely ride one again.

here is the most unbelievable "small world" story! I think you'll all agree.
My father and I went on a long adventure to Tibet in 1986, after I grduated high school. We travelled all over the country by land cruiser. One day, we were walking in the capital city, Lhasa, looking at all the things people were selling on the street. As I was walking along, in this surreal environment that had only just a year before been opened to any western tourism, I saw an old friend from my Jr. high school! we talked for a while,and caught up. he'd been traveling around the world before college. It was and still is the most bizzare experience of my life!
