Definitely Our Man in Hanoi. I've followed Our Man's blog over nearly three years and it has inspired myself and Mrs P. to visit Vietnam... and we land in Hanoi on Sunday 6th May and looking forward to it so much. Our Man's writing is so clear, emotional, and dripping with his sheer enthusiasm for Vietnam and its people.

Our Man in Hanoi gets my vote. I have been to Vietnam 3 times and his word pictures brought the experience back so vividly I could hear the sounds and smell the aromas of Hanoi and as I read I felt I was wandering through the old quarter in Hanoi despite being far away in my office in Australia.

My vote goes to Our Man In Hanoi. His writings on Vietnam are not only imbued with facts which are helpful, they are offered with so much respect, love and humour. He clearly went to great lengths to understand the people and their culture. He did not 'consume' them like most tourists do, and his advise to prospective visitors to do likewise is admirable. Go Steve!
