The shows premiering the week of December 17 include: Feasty Boys Eat America, Hamburger Paradise, 10 Things You Don't Know About: Florida, 10 Things You Don't Know: Hawaii, 25 Mind Blowing Escapes, Extreme Hotels, Art Attack, and The Deal Hunter.
If one can judge a show by its title, 25 Mind Blowing Escapes seems the most interesting to me.

Sounds to me like half the shows should be on the Food Network. Why does the Travel Channel run so many shows that have little or nothing to do with travel? More Samantha Brown, Rudy Maxa, Rick Steves, Bourdain (when he's seeing the sights) and less poker, bizarre food and tribesmen.

You completed a few fine points there. I did a search on the issue and found a good number of people will have the same opinion with your blog.
