I was shocked!! I want to go San Francisco to Amsterdam RT at the end of September which is off shoulder season. I checked 2 search engine web sites. The best I can get find right now is $1020 RT. Please advise me. Am I booking too early? When is the time to buy? Thank you in advance. Stephen Cook

You might want to check the fares from SF to London. There are discount airlines that you might be able to get for your last leg of travel.

I wouldn't expect airfares to go on sale anytime soon. Conventional wisdom is that they're only going up from here. I've found RT to Europe has gone up by 50% over what I paid last summer.
