Priceline may be famous for letting you bid on airfares, hotels, and rental cars without knowing the brand of product you're going to get. But it also sells traditional vacation packages, telling you up-front where you'll be staying, which airline you'll fly, and how much you'll pay. Priceline has just started a promotion in which it offers refunds if you buy one of these packages and then your vacation is rained out.
The fine print: The "Sunshine Guarantee" is good for package trips 3 to 8 days long to more than 100 spots in the U.S., the Caribbean, Canada, and Europe. It offers a full refund of your package price if it rains half an inch or more a day on a majority of your vacation days. Priceline uses the rain measurements taken at your destination's airport.
When: Book at least 12 days in advance for departures between July 1 and Sept. 7, 2008.
Book by: July 17.
