The Wisconsin Dells, an area I wrote about in a recent road trip story, has been flooded as a result of a dam break (caused by two days of storms). We're thinking of you, Dells--hang in there. If you have a great memory of time in the area, post it, and we'll send them all to the folks there to show them how much we care. (My personal great memory was at the Kalahari resort, where I had a blast at the indoor waterpark--particularly the slide that's like a big funnel/toilet.... My friend Shawnda did a move we called "cleaning the rim.")

I have it from a local source (and, apparently, the media now as well) that the Dells *isn't* actually flooded; the only real problem seems to be on Lake Delton, which drained into the Wisconsin River and is now dry . . .

Hi, there, The initial reports this week were that the Wisconsin Dells tourism area was flooded as a dam near their broke, sweeping away some homes. No injuries reported, but water from the 245-acre Lake Delton washed out a highway embankment and destroyed lakefront homes in a key part of the Wisconsin Dells tourism area. Bill Pettit, who owns the Delton Oaks resort, said an empty lake would be devastating to the local economy, given that it is touted as the water park capital of the world.
Thanks,
Sean
