Air France is discounting its fares from 14 U.S. gateways to 24 European destinations for travel between Sept. 1 and October 29—just book by July 8. A one-way flight from Philly to Madrid is as little as $276.
Of course, there are some conditions (a required Saturday night stay) and extras like taxes and fees of $80 to $150, and a $30 surcharge for Thursday through Sunday departures. But at least fuel surcharges are included!

Why would any sane person fly on Air France? The rudest people, from the ticket agents, all the way to the flight attendents. I flew back from Paris, last year, at $6000 a seat (medical emergency), and you would have thought we were refuges from Texas. Later, when I tried to straighten out some ticketing errors, what a joke! Their customer service is horrible. I can see why airfarewatchdog recommends to NEVER fly Air France.

I had a positive experience with Air France last year. My wife and I were scheduled from Philadelphia to Rome via Paris. Weather delayed our departure from Philly causing us to miss our connecting flight in Paris. Within two hours the Air France service desk at Charles DeGaulle had us on our way on an Alitalia flight to Rome. The re-booking desk staff and gate agents were friendly and efficient. On that trip, Air France customer service was A+.

I flew Air France a couple of years ago and was very pleased.

I flew Air France several times in the past and I found them to be excellent, friendly, and efficient. The food was very good compared to American Airlines
and if I had to choose between American and Air France, I'd pick Air France. Somehow American Airlines will never live up to the service and friendliness of TWA which was my favorite airlines that I flew exclusively from 1975 to 2001. I was very sad to see them go out of business. But Lufthansa runs very close to what I was accustomed to with TWA.
