We're always encouraging you to join the loyalty club of any company you use. Up until now, these companies have been airlines, hotel chains, and rental car companies. But Hotels.com is the first booking site to launch a simple rewards program. (Orbitz tried to do a rewards program a few years ago, but it was way too complicated and never gained much traction.)
The Hotels.com "welcomerewards program" is simple. After you use the site to book 10 reservations over the course of a year, you'll get a free night's stay at your choice of one of 45,000 hotels. What's simple is that there are no blackout dates and no restrictions on the type of properties, either for earning a chance at a free night's stay or for redeeming a reward for a free night's stay.

UPDATE July 11: A spokesperson for Orbitz notes that the company recently launched a co-branded credit card with Capital One, and that the card includes a rewards program.
I did know about this, but I did not mention it when I originally posted this item because I didn't feel that this program is as simple to understand as Hotel.com’s “book 10, get one free stay, at any property we offer” program. Look at the rules for the Orbitz Visa Card to judge for yourself: orbitzvisacard.orbitz.com.)
