A 26-year old passenger on a French high-speed train had an unfortunate accident. His cell phone fell into the toilet bowl on the train, and when he reached down to get it, the suction system trapped his hand.
The BBC reports that it took two hours for firemen to cut the toilet out of the train. Even then, the man was carried to the hospital with part of the toilet still attached to his arm.
Have you ever done anything stupid on a trip?

Like many, I look forward to every trip that I take (and I take quite a few). I am always looking for enough time and money to see new places of the world and to meet new and exciting people. For a couple of years I have thought a lot about a job change to the travel industry. I am now 40 years old and feel that the time is now. Would this magazine be able to take on this subject in the form of an article that would help people like myself, become informed as to how to make it in the travel industry?

It's as if this article were written for this post:

Hard to believe he couldn't pull his arm out. As for stupid things I did on a trip, I suppose I've done a few. One sticks in my memory (and my craw): met 2 friendly and helpful (I thought) chaps on a train from the ferry terminal to Colombo in Sri Lanka, and gave them $20 to get me a "workaway" passage on a ship to Fremantle. I never saw them again, and it turned out the ship existed but didn't call at Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). I also got caught in the most unbelievable red tape trying to get out of the place and fly to Perth where I was headed.

Please leave my name out of anything you print .
The most stupid thing I have done in my travels .
Years ago , I was in Singapore , in the Hyatt , I think ,on the 24 floor , and on the first day I decided to check the fire escape route , just in case of emergency .
Alone in the corridor of the 24th floor , I noticed a door marked Fire Escape or Exit , opened it , walked into a well light spotlessly clean marble staircase and left my grip of the door, which slammed shut behind me, due to the strong damper fitted .
Looking down the shaft I admired the 24 stories of clean well lit stairs and stainless steel handrail.
I turned to return to my room only to find that there was no handle fitted to the door from this side . Luckily I was fit enough to go down the stairs to the exit at the foyer on the ground floor. More than 500 steps later :-)
