Long-distance getaways are better bargains now than they have been for decades. It'll soon be cheaper to turn off the heat and lights at home and fly somewhere else. Consider the astonishing deals we found today…
• Barcelona, from New York City, $206 roundtrip, including taxes and fees (Iberia)
• Honolulu, from L.A., $339 roundtrip, including taxes and fees (BestFares)
• Aruba, from $268 roundtrip—plus taxes and fees (American Airlines)
• Las Vegas, from Denver (between now and late May), $118 roundtrip, plus about $20 in taxes (Southwest)
• Chicago at a high-end luxury hotel on the Magnificent Mile during the weekend before St. Patrick's Day, $86 per night (Hotwire, blind booking)
• A long weekend in glamorous (and ordinarily expensive) Santa Barbara, Calif. (with streets bursting with springtime blooms), staying at the well-reviewed Montecito Inn that's only a couple blocks from the beach, from $99 a night (Travelocity, via CheapTickets)
• 7-night air plus all-inclusive package to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for $1,400 per couple. Includes resort/meals/flights/transfers. Stay at the beachside 62-acre Grand Paradise Bavaro Beach Resort Casino & Spa, in late April. Plane tickets are priced out of Cleveland and don't cover roughly $100 per person in taxes and fees (Apple Vacations)

If you're anywhere near the gulf coast, Carnival has got some great deals on cruises. Also, try faredeals.com. We've been on an awesome trip through them to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Hotwire is good for ideas and prices! Good luck.

I bought tickets LAX-Sydney, Australia several months ago when I found them for $731 each on United, but today I looked and could get the same tickets for $715 each!! The usual fares on that route tend to be in the $1200-1500 range, so the current price is a really good deal. I think the introduction of VAustralia international flights really drove the price down.

On june 6/04 I bought a ticket from san diego to valencia spain for $543.51 roundtrip thru delta airlines. Yesterday, 6/9/09 the website delta airline shows $309.51. exactly the same routing time everything. I complain about it but delta says I get charge for penalty of $250.00 so it will end up the same amount. And I thought they have fare guarantee just like northwest airline. They said they are not one airline yet.

That's awful.
Sadly, Delta isn't one of the airlines that offers cash back when fares drop.
