Travel these days is all about the last minute. Hotels, airlines, rental car companies, and cruises are slashing rates to fill up empty rooms and seats. And with sites devoted to those book-right-before-you-board trips, like lastminute.com and lastminutetravel.com, it couldn’t be easier. All-inclusive Caribbean resorts charging less than $70 a night. Round-trip airfare and 3 nights in Barcelona for $260. Five-star suites in Vegas for below $100. Looks like savvy travelers are snatching up those last-minute deals and packing their bags.
So, we want to know what YOU have on tap in the next week or two. Post a comment!

Hi Brooke,
We found it here (though deals change quickly, so act fast)

I've been looking at lastminute.com (u.s.) for a while now and finally just booked a quick trip to see my brother in Memphis. From Cleveland, flying down sat morning 3/28 and coming back mon 3/30 evening. $327 total for flight and car. I like how lastminute.com gives you flight+hotel, or flight+car or even flight+luxury hotel options, in column view, that you can click on right away vs. searching through all things on, say, lastminutetravel.com. (Just a personal preference). This trip would have been cheaper per person (around $275) but I'm going solo so it jumped up a little. Now I get to use my new one-bag-does-it-all carry-on I got for Christmas.

Found a great deal on American Airlines from LAX to Dublin for $369.00 round trip. Heading there Tuesday March 31. Quite excited. Have been to Ireland before but never really stayed in Dublin. Any ideas on where a 51 year old divorce woman can find some live "modern" music and people my age?

Does anyone know of a last minute website that gives you different options from your home city? I would rather search this way for the best deals as opposed to picking a destination.
Thanks!

Ok, those of you who would like to go storm chasing. Don't go to the Twister Sisters or such, where you can pay 3000+ for a trip. You can go to your local colleges and find trips this way. I am going on two trips with College of DuPage. The cost is $925 + 3 hours tuition ($348). You get to go for 10 days, and you also learn about storm chasing and how the storms form....

Not last minute, but great price to Dublin on May 7th. $559.20 for the two of us from EWR. At less than $280 per person, the price looks like the tax/fuel surcharge of a few months ago.

about 3 wks ago, my husband and i booked a last minute trip (we booked on friday, left on saturday) to puerta vallarta from san francisco. we used hotwire and got our hotel and airfare for less than $550 per person. we stayed 3 nights at the marriott casa magna. we were looking for a direct flight leaving from sfo, on sat AM to anywhere it was warm. PV fit the bill. there were deals for less than $500 but i wanted to stay at a marriott so we could get points. plus i've stayed at marriotts in mex before so i knew what i was getting. the weather was perfect and it was a very good/easy long weekend away. hoorah for direct flights!

Traveling to Bulgaria and Romania April 8-25 on a private adventure with Original World. Besides the architecture and bucolic countryside, also plan to enjoy ethnographic museums, folkloric shows, and delicious cuisine in atmospheric settings. What can Budget Travel recommend to make this adventure truly unique? Thank you.

I have been watching the repositioning cruise fares for the past few months and finally the cost is too good to pass up.
I want to take a ship to Italy and complete research for an article on solo travel: how difficult will it be to travel 11 days solo on a ship full of couples?
Once in Italy I will explore Puglia: the next hot spot in Italy!
Finally a visit to the Borgo (town) that allows native english speakers to spend a week "speaking English" with Italians who need to perfect their English skills.
BT can improve this trip with great inside info for Puglia

We live in Napa so we're already spoiled by great weather and food. We always go to the Monterery/Carmel/Santa Cruz area over Spring break. However, this year, we're heading over to Half Moon Bay instead. I understand there are some nice walking trails, seafood and beaches. We're traveling with our 14 and 11 yr. old daughters. If you've been there and can make some recommendations as to things to do and places to eat, please post.

My son is finishing Grad school in May and we are celebrating by taking a short trip to Sonoma, Ca.
We plan on attending the Sonoma Film Festival and are arriving on Mar 31 and staying 3 nights. Does Budget Travel have any restaurant recommendations that are moderately priced? Thank You!

Two weeks ago, I booked my sister and myself, who are diehard UCONN WOMENS'S BASKETBALL FANS to St. Louis for a 3 night stay at the MILLENIUM HOTEL with AIRFARE and all taxes and surcharges for $237.00 from Hartford, CT....couldn't believe it when I saw it and thought we have got to go....Booked it on PRICELINE.COM.....Everyone in our small town of LEBANON can't believe we can go to the FINAL FOUR in St. Louis for $237 each including flights, etc. Now all we need is for our UCONN WOMEN to be there too!!!! GO HUSKIES!

In looking for a spring break ski vacation, I came across a private lodging company in Keystone, CO. I was able to land a three bedroom condo that was within walking distance of the slopes for $175 per night, half the normal rate. It was nicely perfect for my family. My only complaint was the spring break kids out in the court yard making noise. I was told that I was filing a gap, so the price was lowered. if you call the lodging company, summitcove, directly, they will work with you on last minute discounts.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a trip to Antarctica so we're not going anywhere in the next few weeks. But it's worth noting that several people on
our boat booked their trips at the last minute in Ushuaia, Argentina, at substantial savings over reservations made far in advance. If we decide to return to Antarctica, we would probably choose this option, which means you have to give yourself a little more time to hang out in Ushuaia to find a spot on a boat. The Antarctic travel season is over for this year, but similar deals could be available for Arctic cruises coming up in the next few months. We were very happy with the trip run by Oceanwide Expeditions, and if anyone is thinking of a journey to the Arctic, it might be worth checking their web site to see if they're offering any last-minute, space-available deals.

I'm taking my family to Great Britain next year, and I would like some ideas on what to do in Ireland, and would appreciate any suggestions. We are all adults.
