My boyfriend and I have two weeks off starting just before New Years. We have no interest in celebrating any particular holiday (especially NYE) but we want to travel. We are on a budget of about $1,000 - $1,500 per person.
We are torn between Europe, which will be cheaper, and Central-South America, which will be hot. At this point, I'm afraid that we will be paralyzed by the decision and not go anywhere. Any advice?

We are flying into Ontario, CA on 12/21 and out on 12/27, coming from Chicago. Our fear is the airports will be crazy with people. How much time would you suggest to allow for the airports?

I am interested in flying into Portland, OR and driving down the coast to San Francisco. Are there any car rentals that don't add addition charges for a different drop off?

What are your best beach ideas for the Christmas holidays. Those that will not break the bank but that offer comfortable rooms, good food, and most of all a fab beach. Thanks.

Me and one other guy are traveling sometime between 12/19 and 1/3. We want to go overseas somewhere, but we do not really care where. The cheaper the better, but it does not have to be extremely cheap. Where do you recommend?

We are planning to go to Europe sometime between Dec. 26,2009 thru Jan. 02,2010. We like to travel to at least 2 different countries but have not decided which ones. We are budgeting around 4000-4500 for four adults and would like to find something reasonable flying out of Texas. Not looking for luxury obviously but comfort and tourist friendly.

I live in the fabulous resort ski town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming! Traveling in & out of the airport here is always so pricey, so I am looking to reduce costs any way I can . . .
I am going to Denver for 2 weeks around Christmas-time, which I know can be even pricier if I don't purchase tickets soon. A rental car is out, because of the winter storms in the areas that I will be traveling.
Plus, there are only 2 airlines that come in & out of here for the winter, so I am somewhat limited I guess. Any suggestions for going from Jackson to Denver?
My intial thought is Dec 15 to Dec 29 because Tue travel is usually less pricey. I also try to buy my tickets Wed nights (after midnight EST) because it seems all the prices go down at that point!
Thanks for any other suggestions!

I have booked a cottage in Galway for the week after Christmas, (Dec 26 - Jan 2). There are eight of us traveling including a 12-year-old and a 74-year-old. My problem is I'm having a terrible time finding reasonable airfare. I've been checking San Diego to Dublin, San Diego to Shannon, even LAX, but no luck. I can usually find fares from around $550 to $650 for this time of year, but currently haven't found anything better than $950+ per person. Is inflation that bad? Or am I doing something wrong? I'm tempted to try Priceline's bidding area, but hate to take the chance on 7 hour lay-overs or changing planes in Chicago - the Black Hole of travel. Any suggestions??

Help! We have flown many times, but the last couple have been very turbulant. now 1 of our family is paralyzed with fear of flying. We have asked flight attendents, and they say have a few drinks. This is not an option. We've read all the material, but she is sure thats the way she's going to die, and has dreams about it. Any helpful hints, our gypsy blood is calling, but she can't get on the plane. I don't know who else to ask. She's tried antianxiety meds, no help.

This is not about holiday travel but a group of 10 of us want to see Australia and New Zealand in 2010. What is a good time to go and what would be the best way economically tour wise? Thanks.

Due to our family situation, my husband and I do not have anything to do on Christmas day. We would love to find something fun/interesting to do in the Midwest on Christmas day, and any weekend time that falls next to it. Any ideas?

We are taking 30 teenagers to New Orleans in April. Can you suggest some places to eat that would be inexpensive yet interesting. Also we are looking for a Sunday mass that is energetic - like you see in the movies.
Thanks for you suggestions.

We have a 5 hour layover in Puerto Rico in November on our way to Martinique and want some advice about leaving the airport and doing something fun during the layover, but not having to worry about getting back in time for our flight. Any suggestions?

My husband and I plan to spend time in Bavaria next spring. How can we attend Oberammergau Passion Play without purchasing a days long tour? Is there a tour that would just take us there from Munich to include perhaps Fussen, as we also want to see the Neuschwanstein castle?

My fiance and I live in Reno, NV and are planning to visit his family in Mobile, AL for Christmas. Our friends will be celebrating New Year's in Key West, and we are planning to meet them there. We're not sure what is the best (and least expensive!) way to travel, either by using our Mobile rental car to drive down and back, having a little Florida roadtrip, or flying to Ft. Lauderdale and renting another car to drive to the keys. And then there are hotels to consider...help!

My husband and I are planning a month-long trip to China in Oct.-Nov 2010. I've just read that there will be a World's Fair in Shanghai in Oct. and I'm wondering if that is going to adversely impact our trip (costs, hotel availability, crowds) enough that we should reconsider our trip?

Our family of four, two sons ages 15 and 17, will be taking a vacation (10 - 12 days) overseas any time between 12/19 and 1/3. I'm looking for a location with activities we will all enjoy. We're not interested in winter sports this trip and are really not sure what to do. We don't mind the cold we just don't want to be somewhere really cold. We're from south Florida so aren't interested in beachy locations. We're looking to spend about $8000. What can you recommend?
