Kimberley, the photos are fabulous. I love the Lavendar Fields and the picture in Chenonceaux. Wonderful. Hug my Chloe, please.

Great pics! My favorite is the one of the Eiffel Tower seen from the Métro.

Of course I admire your travel photos,, not that each one has to be a National Geographic....Yes, I could tell you much by also submitting our photos, that is the ones taken during 'our' digital age....so many other occasions have gone by now, in the past using film cameras..quite not the same...If you could, encourage me to post somewhere the thousands of recent photos of England, France, Italy, Hungary, and Russia most recently...taking eight or more memeory cards assures quite a coverage of still and video photos...But, it takes time to share them...Thank you...Arnold

Ahhh, a mini-vacation via the photo slide show on the internet. A lovely way to begin my day and start planning for our next trip to Europe! Thank you for the lovely photos.

Great series. Nuns is by far the best. Thank you.

Great photos. I'm having fun riding a bicycle around Paris for two weeks. The weather is good and traffic light due to the vacation period. After seeing the photos, I spent 2 hours riding the streets that surround the Eiffel Tower and in its parks.

Thank you for the wonderful photos of France. I wish I could go but the loss of a job forces me to stay home here in the warm part of the Southwest in Arizona.
Thanks again for the slide show.............

The one with the nuns is stunning the rest are rather mediocre and I can't see how they could be the best submitted.

Beautiful photos.
Brings back many memories of
my 5-years living there.

Especially the Eiffel Tower,
as that is what my windows &
terrace brought me every AM!

Many Thanks.

The slideshow is slower than a snail's pace! Wish I could have gotten further than Photo 4 before I had to close. :(

Thank you all for sharing those photos. You don't have to go there to appreciate the beauty of a place. I agree,it was a nice mini vacation!

Ahhh....I was certain I'd seen only a bit of the magic that is France. I'm eager to return--and these photos whet my appetite. But first, an autumn trip to Tuscany, my first love!

Just got back from a 2+week visit to France-fabulous! Unfortunately we (my sister, daughter &I)
"did" Paris in 4 days! We stayed at a very small
(petit) B&B in the 16th arrodisment (district) on the West side of the city and Seine River, but only a 30+minute walk to the Trocadero and Eiffel
Tower or a 5-minute Metro ride (La Muette or Bouganvillers). Our B&B, La Muette, owned by Mdm. Demoures and under the B&B consortium of
Une Chambre en ville (www.chambre-ville.com) was
very adequate. Mdm. Demoures was a most graceous host, though we didn't see a lot of her. At 105.00
Euros/night (about $150.00US)including a light continental breakfast, we felt it was not bad....
and that's for 2 adults and one child, age 12 yrs.
Mdm. Demoures requested payment in Euros, no credit card. I don't know if this was her policy
or Une Chambre en Ville's policy; but, beware, ask
type of payment accepted BEFORE you leave on your trip when staying at a B&B. I would recommned Mdm. Demoure's B&B, but not if you are renting an auto....no place for nearby parking. Neighborhood patissere, grogery store, shops and local restaurants and bisetros within walking distance.
We "did" a Paris illumination tour (6PM-11PM)that included an Eiffel Tower visit and a bateau ride on the Seine River one evening. The next day we "escaped" Paris for a tour (8AM-6PM)to Giverny (Monet's home and gardens), great country lunch (wine inc.), and a tour of Versaille Palace (excellent tour guide...in English), both in an air-conditioned bus. Both tours were through PARIS VISIONS across from the Jardin (Garden) de Tulleries next to the west end of the Louvre, a 30-45 minute Metro ride from La Muette. A little pricey for both tours, but when you only have 4 days in Paris, you have "go for the gusto".
Except for a brief thunder shower during our "illumination tour", the weather was sunny
and 80-84 degrees each day in Paris.

The Lavender fields of Provence is my absolute favorite, I could almost feel the breeze tinged with lavender surrounding me. I closed my eyes for a second and I swear I could smell it. Oh what a glorious dream, I can dream while being stuck here.

Loved the red umbrella shot, reminded me of "The Red Balloon." Please just take me to France!

Such lovely memories-my husband died 3 years ago-the last time we were able to go was '98, started going in '68. Disabled now and so full of wonderful times of the past. lavendar fields, Montmartre, Riviera. Italy next?

Thanks for the photos they gave me a few minutes of joy in this bleak economy! My sister and family bought a house near Toulouse in France and I haven't been able to afford to go visit yet, so this was about as far as I will get to see France this year! The lavender fields was by far the best, the last time I was with my sister was at a similar lavender fields in the north of England. Oh happy days......didn't see the beauty in the red umbrella one, to each his own!

Thanks for the photos; they were GREAT! I have just returned from a great trip to France and loved the scenery; I hope some of my photos come out as well. For any Veterans or people with an interest in history; my trip included a 3-day tour with Pegasusnormandytours.com which focused completely on the events of D-day. I could not have asked for a better tour to see the beaches and sites and the operator was very well educated on the subject (writes articles and continues to research for a book). In addition to the wealth of information about the area, he had photos, aerial maps, land maps and personal stories form the Veterans themselves; which made this tour truly amazing. It would be easy to look at the Normandy coastline and see it for it's beauty however to really get a sense about the events from WWll I think an experienced tour is necessary.
