
Following in the tracks of Velib', the wildly successful bike sharing program (that still isn't accessible to most Americans), the city of Paris is moving forward with a car sharing program called Autolib'.
Urban beaches, bike sharing, support for the arts and now this? I'm honestly loving the way mayor Bertrand Delanoë puts my tax euros to use. Let's just hope that the new program doesn't inspire a freeride auto equivalent!

It will be interesting to see how this works out. Seems pretty ambitious. It hasn't worked real well with some bicycle type operations here in the U.S. but it might just work well with little cars in Paris.

What a great plan, Paris leads by example. I can remember when they revolutionized the public toilets, you just have to love their civilized vision.

Sounds great! But, I'm security minded, so how are they going to guarantee that some crooked thief (is that an oxymoron?) isn't going to take one, and just not bring it back?
