Posted by: Sean O'Neill, Monday, Oct 5, 2009, 3:23 PM

A short movie about Chicago filmed in 1948—in Technicolor!—has surfaced on YouTube. Take a look at "Chicago the Beautiful," part of the James A. FitzPatrick's Traveltalks series.

All of the city's major landmarks are covered in this 10-minute long clip.

[hat tip to The Chicago Tribune for spotting the video]

Some things don't change but overall Chicago has for the better. The Buckingham Fountain at the end is not as picturesque as today. The lake right up the Museum of Science and Industry was real interesting along with some of the things I never knew about like the statue at Jackson Park and the Fountain of time. Must see them next time we are in Chi-Town. Nice find Sean!
