Worst hotel deals
Posted by: Sean O'Neill, Thursday, Oct 29, 2009, 1:27 PM

We're always trying to spotlight hotel packages with the most value on our budgettravel.com/RealDeals page.

But what about the stinkers?

Just for fun, Dealbase has been collecting the hotel packages with the highest additional costs above regular prices on the "Worst Hotel Deals" page.

For example, Dealbase says you'd be better off buying the individual parts of the lodging, breakfast, bottle of champagne, and basket of strawberries instead of the "special offer" package from Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort in the Bahamas between now and the end of the year. The "special offer" costs 162 percent more than the cost of buying the component parts separately. D'Oh!

Of course, Dealbase primarily tells you about the good deals. But I thought this small, extra service was amusing.
