JFK airport will close its busiest runway for four months in 2010, between March and July. About 35,000 takeoffs and landings will have to be added onto the other two runways while asphalt pavement is replaced and widened.
About $15 million of the total $376-million cost is coming from the federal stimulus package.

This is unlikely to have much impact since only 2 runways are active at JFK at any one time.
