Is it safe to take a cruise? Sure it is, but you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise after the past week. A series of mishaps have hit cruise lines around the world. In the Mediterranean Sea, a 26-foot wave pummeled a cruise ship carrying nearly 2,000 people, killing two. A passenger shot some amazing video (included in the video clip, below) of what it was like to be inside.
Meanwhile, about 400 passengers recently became ill with a stomach bug aboard the Celebrity Mercury. The same ship departed again right away and reported on Friday that 50 passengers are now sick.
Find out if your ship has been affected by an outbreak by visiting the site of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on their Vessel Sanitation Program page, which lists the latest major incidents and the inspection reports.

I'm really upset that Princess Cruise Line will not refund our money for the cruise on March 2 out of Chile, but also amazed that the forums and blogs, like Budget Travel, Cruise Critic and Arthur Frommers aren't even talking about the way Princess is treating their customers.
If the "big boys" would shame Princess, maybe they would reschedule the passengers for another cruise.
Delta cancelled my flight which was supposed to leave 2/28 and I was told the first flight available was 3/7. My transportation to the ship was also cancelled. So what's a person to do???
thanks for listening

American cancelled our flight to Chile also, but did not hesitate to say a refund would be coming. They were going to start flying on the 5th. Princess suggested to our travel person that we should fly into the next port & pick up the cruise there, half way thru. Otherwise forfeit our $. By then the airline fare had risen to $4000.00. Princess had better rethink that policy, they can be loosing more than just money!!
